A masquerade
A dance
Lonely people hiding
behind silly masks
pretending to enjoy
the evening

You walked to the corner
of where my unwanted soul
had taken refuge
and asked me to dance

I got wonderstruck
by the sparkle in your eyes
You lead me to the dancefloor
my hand in yours
and carried me through the rhythm
my heart with yours

At the stroke of midnight
you kissed me on my lips
I closed my eyes
and got lost in the magic

When I opened them back
you were there no more
